About The Volvo EX90
The Volvo EX90 was the Swedish automaker’s first three-row electric SUV, and one of the first three-row SUVs from any automaker. As the name suggests, it is similar in form and function to the gasoline-powered and massively popular XC90, but with an evolved design and an advanced electric drivetrain. Volvo offers a potent twin-motor configuration as standard, but those who want more power can select a Performance drivetrain, which delivers more power without sacrificing range. The spacious interior has lots of room for both passengers and cargo, with helpful features like a standard hands-free power tailgate. Cutting-edge technology can be found everywhere on the EX90, from the “Thor’s Hammer” headlights to the advanced driver’s support systems like Pilot Assist.

Advanced Electric Drivetrain
The EX90 is Volvo’s electric flagship, and the drivetrain offers the kind of power and convenience befitting the vehicle at the top of the lineup. An all-wheel drive Twin Motor setup comes standard, with an output of 402 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. That’s quite a bit, enough to get the EX90 to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds. But Volvo still added a Twin Motor Performance option, which bumps output up to 510 horsepower and 671 lb-ft of torque, for a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds. Those are incredible numbers for a family-friendly SUV, and the practicality offered by the drivetrain is no less impressive. The EX90 has a range of up to 310 miles, and DC fast charging for 10 to 80 percent takes just 30 minutes, thanks to a charging rate of 250kW. The EX90 even boasts a towing capacity of 4,850 pounds with either drivetrain.
Luxury Interior
Anyone who has experienced the interior of the much-loved XC90 will find the interior of the EX90 familiar. While the two aren’t identical, the EX90 takes a somewhat more tech-forward approach; the XC90 clearly served as inspiration for its electric stablemate. The cabin is filled with high-quality materials, including Nordico bio-attributed leather-free upholstery for the seats, or available Tailored Wool Blend upholstery. The interior trim is genuine wood, available with either birch or light ash. You can choose either a second-row bench or a pair of captain’s chairs, with the outboard seats coming with heating as standard for either configuration, and four-zone automatic climate control makes it even easier for everyone to be comfortable. One way in which the EX90 differs from its gasoline-powered counterpart is that it comes with a premium stereo, in this case a 14-speaker Bose system, as standard equipment.
Cutting-Edge Technology
The incredible performance of the EX90 is a direct result of Volvo’s advanced EV technology, but it’s far from the only area where the EX90 is a technological standout. The 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen is the largest to ever come with any Volvo model, and the built-in Google functionality makes operating the system easy. So you don’t have to take your eyes off the road, a head-up display comes standard, a rarity even among other luxury vehicles. Advanced sensors cover the exterior of the EX90, making it possible for Volvo to include Pilot Assist as standard. This semi-autonomous system goes beyond simple adaptive cruise control by including lane centering, and can even take over steering for lane changes under the right conditions. The system works from a complete stop all the way up to 93 miles per hour.
